About Us

Built on the belief that the ball belongs to everyone.

Children celebrating with basketballs
Mission Statement

The opportunity to play shouldn't depend on where you were born.

The Global Court Project is dedicated to expanding equitable access to basketball, mentorship, and athletic opportunity for underserved youth in low-income communities around the world.

We believe that sport has the power to build confidence, strengthen communities, promote leadership, and create pathways toward personal growth. Yet for millions of children globally, participation is limited not by passion or potential, but by systemic barriers — economic inequality, lack of safe recreational spaces, limited equipment, and inadequate access to organized programs and mentorship.

Through equipment donation campaigns, court restoration projects, youth clinics, educational partnerships, and community-driven programming, we work to ensure that young people — regardless of geography or socioeconomic background — have the opportunity to play, grow, and thrive through sport.

From neighborhoods in Los Angeles to underserved communities across Asia, Africa, Latin America, and beyond, we collaborate with local schools, coaches, nonprofits, and community leaders to create programs that are culturally grounded, community-supported, and built for long-term impact.

What we stand for.

01

Access

Removing barriers — financial, geographic, or material — that keep kids off the court.

02

Belonging

Building spaces where every player feels seen, supported, and part of something bigger.

03

Longevity

Investing in equipment, partnerships, and programs designed to outlast us.

Founder

Auggie Sugarman

Auggie founded The Global Court Project after years of seeing the same pattern repeat: incredible young players with passion and discipline, held back by a missing net, a missing pair of shoes, or a tournament fee their family couldn't cover.

His vision is straightforward — meet kids where they already are, listen to the communities already doing the work, and invest in the small, durable things that compound into life-changing opportunity.

"The game of basketball is a universal language. Our job is to make sure every kid gets a chance to speak it."
